Athletic Movement with the Reformer

Presented by Sheri Long

Athletes are a unique population—physically powerful, mentally driven, and relentlessly focused. But with their dedication to sport comes the potential for muscular imbalances, movement compensations, and tight patterns from repetitive training. Whether you're working with professional or recreational athletes, understanding how to support their performance and recovery is essential.

In this dynamic workshop, we’ll dive into the specific physical and mental characteristics of athletic clients. We’ll explore their goals, assess their needs, and identify how Pilates on the Reformer can be strategically used to enhance strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness.

Sheri will demonstrate and teach both classical and creative Reformer-based exercises, along with athletic-focused variations to address common imbalances, support injury prevention, and boost overall performance. Leave with a toolbox of movement ideas you can immediately apply to your sessions with athletic clients.
